Owen Johnstone is this year's receipient of the Club/Organization Award. Ìý
This award recognizes a student who makes a difference through the organization and development of a student club or organization.
Throughout a busy schedule,Owen constantly works towards making connections across campus, improving the lives around him and creating safe and inclusive environments. He is warm and welcoming and is rarely seen without a smile on his face.
As a first year student in the Veterinary Technician Program, he saw a need on this campus and worked on filling it, creating DALOUT Truro. This club has contributed to student life at DAL-AC, as a referral source for Health Services, a safe space for students of all sexual orientations and gender identities and an educational/social resource. This recipient is passionate and eager to make a difference. The creation of DALOUTT for LGBTQI students and their allies has already worked on changing our campus landscape.
