If you work on ÑÇÖÞ91ÊÓƵ’s Halifax campus, and your office has electronic devices that can no longer be used, you can recycle them through our Electronics Recycling (E-Recycling) program.
You must arrange a pickup based on this procedure, as e-waste cannot be discarded in regular waste sorting areas.
How the E-Recycling Program Works
The E-Recycling program:
- Collects university-owned electronic equipment
- Ensures no data is retrievable
- Properly disposes of it at an approved provincial recycling depot
The materials can then be recycled into new products.
Here are some examples of the electronic equipment that you can recycle through our program:
- Computers (desktop, laptop)
- Computer devices (mouse, keyboard, desktop printer, fax machine)
- Displays (monitor, TV)
- Cellular and non-cellular devices (smartphone, telephone set, tablet)
- Audio/Video systems (CD/DVD player, voice recorder, camera)
